Do you want to try the most delicious soup you've ever tasted?  No seriously this isn't hype.

Monte Del Rey serves the most delicious homemade Mexican chicken soup I've ever had.  EVER!  Garnished with avocado and a squirt of lime juice, it is a day at the spa for your tastebuds.  This isn't canned, bagged or frozen. This is fresh and it is memorable.  You won't be disappointed.  Liquid gold in a bowl.

Definitely not the best Mexican restaurant in town... if you're looking for authenticity, consistency, and large portions.. go for Domingo's.
Before Domingo's we used to go here and it has always been okay. But just okay, nothing exceptional. I do like that they give you dessert chips after your meal!

Great place to eat. Staff are always great. And the food is decently priced as well. I enjoy coming here everytime

Other Mexican restaurants come and go in Mocksville but this one remains.  The reason is it is the best place for Mexican food in the county.  Standard Mexican restaurant menu and they do it well.  Only criticism I can give is with their adult drinks (e.g margaritas).  The margaritas are pretty weak.

I'm saying "Four stars," but they're there to refer you to but one dish served by the restaurant. This is an overall good place to dine on anglo-cized Mexican food, but...really, there are so many similar places in the area, with none in the class of, say, Maria's Mexican Restaurant in Santa Fe. BUT, with one simple item this place scores...BIGTIME! There will be a photo of this item, only the latest I've taken; but, any one of them could have been used, because the dish is almost unvarying. Chances are the Chicken Soup with Sour Cream you order should look (and delight) the same. You have a choice of the soup with or without rice - with...more like a meal, and makes for an interesting texture. Its finished with pico de gallo, and usually a bit of parsley and jalapeño chopped together. The ONLY fault is that there is not a dinner roll of some kind: no, it's not expected...just that it would be a nice accompaniment, with some softened Butter...WHICH is why I use take-out from time to time, adding my own croissants and a glass of wine from my rack.
